The Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis has ordered the activation of the Rapid Reaction Force in the northern section of the country and mobilization of air defense on the islands of Chios and Inousses.
Reports suggest that the Rapid Reaction Force will perform exercises in the area, in response to the increase tension caused by the refugee crisis. Likewise, the air defense mobilization is in response to the Turkish air force’s aggression and provocative overflights in the past few days.
