The Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras visited Vienna on Monday, where he met with Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann, who stated that Greece must remain within the Eurozone and that a mutually-acceptable solution, within a European framework and obligations, must be found.

Mr. Faymann added that such a framework must not further burden the Greek taxpayer and argued that the solution must be a combination of the old program and the new government’s plan.

The Greek PM expressed his optimism of coming to an agreement that will benefit both sides and noted that “we have not yet heard of a sustainable alternative proposal”. Mr. Tsipras asserted that there is no reason to not come to an agreement and that the only reason would be insisting upon a mistake. Should a solution not be found due to this reason, then the common European future is at risk, claimed the Prime Minister.

Mr. Tsipras also thank the Austrian Chancellor for an earlier comment of his, where he stated that everyone investing in catastrophe would fall out and that the fear-mongering may encourage the far right, as it has happened in Greece.
