The Cypriot President Nikos Anastasiadis is expected in Athens on Monday where he will meet with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras to discuss the current round of negotiations over the Cypriot dispute.
The meeting was arranged in order to reevaluate the overall strategy, after the Turkish and Turkish Cypriot side insist to treat the Attila invasion in the summer of 1974 as “peace operation”.
On the 40th anniversary of the Turkish military invasion the Turkish President Abdullah Gül argued that the negotiations would lead to “a new cooperative state in Cyprus” and that Turkey will “never allow Turkish Cypriots to be a minority in a Greek state”.
