Kapa Research study on the affect of the Baltakos scandal

According to a study conducted by Kapa Research, the revelation of the secret discussion between Golden Dawn MP Ilias Kasidiaris and (former) General Secretary of the Government Panagiotis Baltakos had a serious impact on public opinion ahead of the European elections.

Prior to the scandal breaking out, New Democracy had managed to create a 2% ahead of SYRIZA, however the scandal managed to change the situation and put the opposition leaders back ahead.

Polls prior to scandal (study conducted 1^st and 2^nd April):

· New Democracy: 21.7%

· SYRIZA: 19.6%

· The River: 9.2%

· Golden Dawn: 6.9%

· KKE: 5.8%

· Olive Tree: 5.4%

· ANEL: 3.9%

· DIMAR: 2.1%

· Other party: 6.5%

· Blank vote: 1.8%

· Undecided: 17.1%

Kapa Research conducted a second study on the 3^rd of April, after the Baltakos scandal broke out. The results are as follows:

· SYRIZA: 21.5%

· New Democracy: 20.8%

· The River: 8.5%

· Golden Dawn: 7.7%

· KKE: 6.2%

· Olive Tree: 4.6%

· ANEL: 4%

· DIMAR: 1.7%

· Other party: 5.6%

· Blank vote: 2.7%

· Undecided: 16.7%
