New Democracy’s parliamentary representative, Nikos Dendias, launched an attack against the government over the FYROM accord and its handling of the anarchist group Rouvikonas.
Regarding the anarchist group, which recently assumed responsibility for an abortive attack at the office of Independent Greeks MP Kostas Katsikis, Dendias said that the government has a “peculiar conception of upholding legality” and that it acts as if it were not subject to the provisions of the constitution.
New Democracy maintains that the government has handled Rouvikonas with kid gloves.
Dendias, a former justice minister, said that Greece cannot restore normalcy with the current government.
Regarding the FYROM accord, Dendias said that it leaves much to be deired. He maintained that Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ attempt to resolve a national issue actually aimed at dividing New Democracy.
Dendias also criticised the handling of the Independent Greeks party’s recent loss of two MPs, which party leader and Defence Minister Panos Kammenos attributed to a plot to topple the government, noting that the government is treating the issue in a “non-institutional manner”.
“It is a disgrace. The government has lost its composure entirely,” Dendias declared.
