Main opposition leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis requested an emergency meeting with President Prokopis Pavlopoulos, and the two are expected to meet within the day.
Mitsotakis’ request came ahead of a crucial telephone conversation between PM Alexis Tsipras and FYROM Prime Minister Zoran Zaev.
Mitsotakis has been extremely critical of the government’s handling of the FYROM naming talks. He has charged that Tsipras and Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias are conducting secret diplomacy, without briefing opposition parties
The FYROM naming issue will top the agenda of the Pavlopoulos-Mitsotakis talks.
