Greece’s creditors have expressed their consternation over Athens’ delays in implementing reforms that are prerequisites for the completion of the fourth and last bailout review.
In an apparent blame game, Transportation Minister Christos Spirtzis blamed Greece’s privatisation vehicle, TAIPED, for delays in the tender for the major Egnatia Odos highway and in the completion of the concession contract for the extension of Athens’ Eleftherios Venizelos Airport.
Spirtzis said the delay in proclaiming the Egnatia Odos concession is due to TAIPED’s technical inexperience.
Regarding the huge Elliniko development plan, Spirtzis said that requisite removal of a mass transit depot may be completed before June.
For energy privatisation, the competent minister, Yorgos Stathakis, said that all the preconditions pertaining to his remit will be completed on time.
He also noted that the 50mn euro debt of the Hellenic Postal Service to the DEH Public Power Corporation will be gradually paid off.
Today government officials and creditors are discussing real estate taxes and property valuations, the reform of public administration, as well as developments in the banking sector.
