Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias will hold talks with former prime minister George Papandreou this afternoon and evening, at the latter’s request.
Papandreou is now participating in the centre-left Movement for Change, head by Pasok leader Fofi Gennimata, who recently called for snap elections.
The meetings come amidst a crucial bailout programme evaluation, heightened Greek-Turkish tensions in the Aegean, and FYROM naming talks.
Papandreou served as prime minister between 2009 and 2011, and as foreign minister between 1999 and 2004.
According to the state-run Athens News Agency, Papandreou will exchange views with Tsipras and Kotzias on national, foreign policy issues, ahead of several trips abroad that he has planned.
