Main opposition party New Democracy has gained a 16-point lead over the governing SYRIZA party, while coalition government partner Independent Greeks will not make it in the next Parliament, claims the latest survey by the University of Macedonia for Skai TV.

Asked about which party they intend to vote in the next elections, the respondents answered as follows:

When asked which party they believe will win the next elections, New Democracy received 70.5% of the responses, while SYRIZA received 12% of the vote. The polls also show that Kyriakos Mitsotakis (36%) is a more suitable Prime Minister than Alexis Tsipras (19.5%).

As far as popularity goes, Mitsotakis is at the top of the list (31%), followed by the Course of Freedom’s Zoi Konstantopoulou (27.5%), the Secretary General of KKE Dimitris Koutsoumpas (22.5%), SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras (22%), the President of the Union of Centrists Vasilis Leventis (21%), the head of the River Stavros Theodorakis (20.5%) and finally PASOK leader Fofi Gennimata (20%).
