Although the seismic activity in Epirus has calmed down, with the latest jolt measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale on Tuesday morning, local authorities have decided to keep schools and the university closed.

At present 16 technical teams have been dispatched to inspect schools and other public buildings, both in Ioannina and surrounding villages affected by the recent earthquake.

The president of the Earthquake Planning and Protection Organization (OASP) Efthimios Lekkas has urged calm and noted that all structures withstood the major quake on Saturday. He also urged people to avoid spreading rumors and gossips of imminent earthquakes.
