The Euroepan Union’s statistics authority Eurostat has published a study on consumer price levels, which shows that in 2015 Greece was among the most expensive countries to live in.

The survey shows that Greece had the second highest prices in milk, cheese and eggs (131% the EU average), coming behind Cyprus (140% the EU average). The price of meat and tobacco however were under EU averages- 88% and 76% respectively.

Overall, the average price of food and non-alcoholic beverages in Greece was 103% the EU average.
