SYRIZA MP Panagiotis Lafazanis has called for the creation of a movement to satisfy “the people’s desire for democracy and social justice”, in a written statement.
Aside from the leader of the Left Platform, the statement was also signed by Alekos Vernardakis, Nikos Galanis, Dimitris Kavouras, Dimitris Kaltsonis, Panagiotis Mantas, Antonis Davanelos, Andreas Pagiatsos, Spyros Sakellaropoulos, Dimitris Sarafianos, Maria Souani, Themis Tzimas and Lambros Chitas.
According to the statement, which is entitled “No to the new bailout – A call for struggle and popular mobilization throughout the country”, the signatories call for the “political and social formation of a broad, Panhellenic movement” and “the creation of struggle committees against the new Bailout, austerity and the county’s tutelage”.
