A 38-year-old non-commissioned officer, who was airlifted to the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens after injuring himself with his weapon on Tuesday, has succumbed to his injuries.
The NCO was stationed in an armored division on the island of Samos. The Hellenic Army General Staff announced on Tuesday that an investigation would be launched into the circumstances of the incident and expressed its condolences to the officer’s relatives.
