The Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will be in Russia on Thursday and Friday for the International Economic Forum that is taking place in St. Petersburg.
The Greek Prime Minister has arranged to meet with the Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, according to the spokesperson for the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov. Mr. Peskov refused to reveal the subject of Mr. Putin’s main speech during the forum’s opening proceedings.
Foreign Affairs Minister travels to Sofia
Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Kotzias will be in Sofia for two days, with a meeting scheduled with representatives of the Greek business council in Bulgaria. Although the meeting is not open to journalists, Greek business sources in Bulgaria revealed that the meeting refers to a new, special 2% tax that affects the importation of Bulgarian products in Greece.
On Thursday Mr. Kotzias will meet with his Bulgarian counterpart Daniel Mitov, followed by a meeting with the President of the Bulgarian National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva. Shortly before his departure in the afternoon, he will also meet with the President of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev.
