The Financial Times have reported that the International Monetary Fund has rejected an informal Greek request to delay loan payments, citing sources in Athens and Washington.
According to one of these sources, the Greek request was to rearrange the repayment schedule for the IMF loan over the next few months.
The IMF, according to the newspaper report, is said to have responded that an agreement is necessary to restructure the Greek debt.
