The main opposition party SYRIZA has a steady 3.5-point lead over governing New Democracy, according to the latest survey carried out by Pulse RC.
When asked what party they intend to vote for in the next elections, the responds answered:
- SYRIZA – 28.5%
- New Democracy – 25%
- PASOK – 6.5%
- Golden Dawn – 5.5%
- The River – 5.5%
- KKE – 5%
- Independent Greeks – 3.5%
- Other party 5.5%
- Lank/abstain – 6.5%
- Undecided – 8.5%
When asked regarding the early general elections, 55% claimed that they should be avoided, 40% favored early election and 5% were uncertain. Nevertheless, 59% of respondents feel that early elections are unavoidable and only 33% believe that a President may be elected.
While the survey also shows that Antonis Samaras (36%) is still considered a more appropriate Prime Minister than Alexis Tsipras (29%) – and 32% believe that neither is suitable – the majority of voters believe that SYRIZA (61%) will win the next elections, with a minority believing that New Democracy (27%) can come first.
The survey was carried out between the 19th and 21st of December by Pulse RC for the Action 24 television network.
