With violence spiraling out of control in Libya over the past few days, the Greek government decided to evacuate the Greek embassy and Greek citizens.
The “Salamis” navy frigate is en route to Tripoli, where it will collect the 7 embassy employees and 80 Greek citizens who live in Libya and return them to Greece.
So far, the USA evacuated its diplomatic personnel last Saturday, while the French government is also preparing an evacuation.
