According to exclusive information made available to To Vima, the troika representative of the European Commission Matthias Mors informed his supervisors of coming to an agreement with the Greek government.
The two sides held a secret meeting at the Commission’s offices in Athens earlier on Tuesday morning, after the marathon discussions at the Ministry of Finances on Monday evening resulted in very little progress, despite the earlier optimism of Greek officials.
The exclusive source mentioned that the two sides agreed to reexamine public sector dismissals in October. As for the primary surplus, 1 billion euros will cover outstanding debts from last year’s budget and about 500 million will be distributed according to the PM’s plans.
Further details on the nature of the agreement with the troika will be made available later in the day by the Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, who is currently at the Ministry of Finances.
