Internationally renowned composer Mikis Theodorakis was admitted to the Athens Medical Center on Monday afternoon after showing symptoms of a respiratory infection.
The hospital announced that the doctors are pleased with the progress of his medical treatment and explained that he will remain in the hospital for a few days, until he has regained his strength and the symptoms subside.
Theodorakis is largely considered the best-known living composer in Greece and reached an international audience with his scores for Zorba the Greek and Serpico, among others.
