The union of administrative employees of the University of Athens issued a response to the allegations that they have been collecting their wages in their entirety during the 9 weeks of strike action against the suspension measure.
In the response, the union “promises to the sensitive and worried journalists and Hercules of the Ministry of Education” that it will to dock the wages of striking staff members accordingly, in accordance with the relevant legislation.
The union also took the opportunity to explain that the Ministry of Education’s threat of pursuing legal action in relation to staff wage indicates that “its unconstitutional, non-legal, illogical and without public support decisions” are to blame for the closure of the universities.
