The National Federation of Television and Radio Employees (POSPERT) has responded to the allegations made by Deputy Minister of Public Radio and Television Pantelis Kapsis in Parliament and claimed that the government is attempting to correct “the mistake of shutting down ERT with a series of new mistakes”.
POSPERT notes that despite repeatedly offering critical information on ERT’s employees and facilities, the Deputy Minister has refused to collect it, despite repeatedly complaining that the information is necessary. Furthermore, the federation asserts that this in intentional on the Minister’s behalf, in order to slander the employee struggle.
The federation also announced that “the only damages to ERT’s broadcast centers were committed by private technicians who were tasked by the Ministry of Finances to perform raids” and condemned Mr. Kapsis for trying to pass on the blame of the ERT fiasco from the government to the ERT employees who have occupied ERT’s facilities for the pat four months.
