The employees from eight hospitals in Attica have announced a walkout, rally at Mavili Square and a march to Parliament today, in protest of the mergers of hospital wards and the suspension measure affecting healthcare staff.
The protest has been organized by employees at the “Evangelismos”, “Polyclinic”, “Agia Varvara”, “Agios Savvas”, “Patisia”, “Amalia Fleming” and the former “7th IKA Infirmary”.
The employees will hold a general assembly on Monday the 14th of October in order to determine their future stance and action, while another walkout and protest outside the Ministry of Health has been called for the 16th of October.
Private clinics will begin retention of services on the 29th of October due to the 535 million euros (up to 2011) they are owed by insurance fund as well as the arbitrary changes of the EOPYY budget. They are also protesting the arbitrary imposition of the clawback and rebate practices.
