According to the latest Eurostat divs regarding unemployment, the rate of unemployment remained table at 12% in September, despite the optimism of a gradual exit from the crisis.
The data indicates that unemployment in Germany increased by about 25,000, for a total of 2.975 million unemployed with an overall 6.9% rate. Based on non-adjusted seasonal data though, unemployment was reduced by 97,000 jobs, to 2.849 million unemployed.
The unemployment rate in Italy climbed to 12.2% in August, marking a 0.1% increase since July. On an annual basis the unemployment rate increased y 1.5%, while the seasonally adjusted divs suggest 3.127 million unemployed Italians in August.
