The Fire Brigade has announced that it is facing two huge fires that broke out in Kefalonia and Rhodes.
A fire broke out in the Karouza area on Kefalonia earlier on Thursday morning, for which the Fire Brigade has committed 14 fire fighters with 7 vehicles, six fire fighters on foot and three aircraft.
The Fire Brigade is also up against fires in the Kalavarda and Salako areas in Rhodes. The situation is improving, thanks to the efforts of the 50 firefighters with 23 vehicles, four aircraft and one helicopter.
Finally, the Fire Brigade reports that the fires blazing in Pentalofo near Mesologi and Nea Fokea in Halkidiki have been set under partial control.
