With temperatures expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius, the social services of the Municipalities of Athens and Piraeus are taking measures to deal with the mini heat-wave that will last until the end of the week.
In Athens there are seven air-conditioned public “friendship clubs” that will remain open from 8am to 8pm, one in each district:

- 2nd District: Neos Kosmos: Heldraich 15
- 3rd District: Kato Petralona: Athinodorou 4
- 4th District: Kolokynthou: Emonos 9
- 5th District: Agios Eleftherios: Acharnon 372
- 7th District: Vafeos & Panormou
The municipal social services of Piraeus have announced preventative measures for the elderly and other sensitive social groups. The air-conditioned solidarity centers (KAPI) will remain open to the public between 8am and 10pm:
