The German Minister of Finances Wolfgang Schäuble spoke at a CDU party event on Tuesday evening and commented that Greece is on the right path of reforms to becoming competitive.
Mr. Schäuble, typically a staunch critic of Greece and other debt-ridden European countries in the South, also estimated that both Portugal and Ireland will be in the position to enter the markets again in 2014, while Spain is also becoming much more competitive.
The Minister of Finances was also pleased with the progress of the German and EU plan to provide “help for self-help” to the European partners dealing with the economic crisis.
