The Minister of Growth Kostas Hatzidakis and Deputy Ministers Thanasis Skordas and Kyriakos Virvidakis will meet with the board of directors of the Greek Bank Union (EET), in order to discuss government relief proposals for borrowers.
The ministers will also discuss strategies to increase the cash flow in the market, through investment tools that the government created in cooperation with the European Investment Bank.
A Public Issue poll shows that about 8 out of 10 borrowers are having trouble paying back their loan. Specifically, 78% of households reported problems keeping up with monthly installments, with 6% being unable to pay at all. The study also shows that 29% of households have proceeded with a loan settlement, while 2% fail at securing a settlement.
