The Panhellenic Federation of IKA employees has decided upon a 24-hour strike, in response to a court mandate ordering the lay off of 500 co-workers hired two years ago.
The strikers have taken over the central Social Security offices, while at 11am they have arranged a general assembly and a march to the ministries of Labor and Administrative Reform. The striking IKA employees warn that they will escalate their actions unless the government provides an immediate solution.
