PASOK president Evangelos Venizelos expressed his satisfaction at the new European perspective by European social democrat parties, during his meeting with SPD candidate for the German chancellery Peer Steinbrück. The German politician insisted that Greece needs more time to achieve its goals
Mr. Venizelos explained that «Conservative Europe was a permanent co-speaker over the past, hard years. There is no better historical framework than the European. In Europe we will change the relationship, that is why we insist on this strategy, because it is the only one that exists”.
Mr. Steinbrück explained that “there needs to be trust towards this country. This trust is necessary for investment, by Greeks themselves and abroad. Because simply by establishing the budge, austerity will lead nowhere. That way, there will be no growth”. The German politician is also to meet the Minister of Finances Giannis Stournaras.
