Nikos Romanos, the 20-year-old who was amongst the four arrested for the armed robberies in Kozani released a statement, via his lawyer Frangiscos Ragousis:
“My motives were political. I consider myself a prisoner of war. I do not consider myself a victim. I will not sue the police officers who hit me. I wish that my abuse will raise awareness in the consciences of citizens. I accept the robber and nothing more. A political statement will follow, because only I can express myself and nobody else.
