23.1.13

The president of the Piraeus Port Organization (OLP) Giorgos Anomeritis confirmed that Cosco has not made an offer for 60% for OLP, which is reported to be worth 1 billion euros.

TAIPED executives also mentioned that no offers, international or domestic, have been made for any ports and marinas. Mr. Anomeritis suggested that the government proceed with an international auction, should it wish to sell OLP shares.

Sources from the Ministry of Shipping indicate that TAIPED, the firm in charge of privatizations, is considering offers for the ports of Piraeus, Thessaloniki, Volos, Rafina, Igoumenitsa, Patra, Alexandroupoli, Heraklion, Elefsina, Lavrio, Kerkyra and Kavala. The commercial and administrative activities have been separated, while the Ministry creates a regulatory authority for ports.
