Mrs. Eleni Papakonstantinou, cousin of former Minister of Finances Giorgos Papakonstantinou, has resigned from her position on the expert council of the State Fund for the Development of Private Property (TAIPED). Mr. Papakonstantinou is under fire for his involvement in the controversial “Lagarde List” scandal.

In her resignation, Mrs. Papakonstantinou states that accusations against her name are unfounded and the path of her professional career is clear. Regarding the bank account with HSBC, she clarified that it “is legal property of mine and my husband’s”. She concludes saying that she submits her resignation “to avoid creating any trouble in the Fund’s operation”.

Mrs. Papakonstantinou, daughter of the late, former minister Michalis Papakonstantinou, was a member of the Fund since February 2012, replacing the member of the Greek Bank Union.
