Meimarakis “confident” of winning snap election in September

The provisional president of New Democracy Evangelos Meimarakis is currently on an election campaign tour in Aetoloakarnania and Achaia, where he has arranged to meet with local government representatives, the local commercial chamber and farmers.

Mr. Meimarakis argued that his party’s goal is attract undecided voters, underlining that it was important to not waste a single vote in the upcoming elections.

According to Mr. Meimarakis “New Democracy will come first” in the elections. He recognized that the body electorate cast its vote “in anger” in the previous elections and questioned whether it was worth voting as such, when it has cost the country 90 billion euros.

Furthermore, the provisional ND leader commented that it was important for stability and to ensure that NSRF are not lost. He also argued denounced the 23% VAT in private education and promised to farmers that the government’s measures will not go through.

As part of his tour, Mr. Meimarakis will be speaking in Patra at 7:30pm on Monday.
