The unacceptable practices by the President of Parliament have resulted in trivializing Parliament beyond all limits. In order to serve her personal political ambitions and plans, Mrs. Konstantopoulou has adopted unprecedented procedures for Parliament, trivializing the prestige of such a leading democratic institution.

Her obsessive tactics lead to institutional absurdity, where she insists on summoning committees or the Assembly in order to launch personal attacks against the President, the Prime Minister or other members of the party she used to belong to until yesterday. She has declared herself to be a top constitutional law expert and authentic interpreter of the Constitution and the law, with complete disregard for the reactions and outcry she is causing.

Never before has a President of Parliament had almost the entire political turn again them. She has turned the television station of Parliament into a personal vehicle of self promotion, while at the same time a series of extra-institutional actions she is trying to establish her self as the sole defender of the interests of the country and the people.

It is tragic that a young politician who was appointed in a top job, with so many expectations from her party, to manage to discredit it with a pointless and nonsensical obsession with institutions. Without any sense of measure and political logic, Mrs. Konstantopoulou will be remembered in the history of Parliament as the President elected with an overwhelming majority and who departed in a widespread outcry.
