Mr. Tsipras must be having a right old laugh with his resignation. And why not? Which political leader or party can truly be a threat to him in the upcoming elections?
The “Heirs of No”? Lafazanis, Leoutsakos, Varoufakis or neo-Left divs such as Konstantopoulou and Makri? Surely not. They didn’t even have the decency to resign when they disagreed with the main legislative bill that the party majority desired.
New Democracy? If failed to even take advantage of the tourist tsunami that was generously offered by the Arab Spring. Even where the numbers appeared to prosper, the financial results proved otherwise. The people will also not forget how to this day certain dauphins will leak to the media how they are interested in assuming leadership of the party!
The other government partner will have a hard time finding an idea similar to the one with the train, in the television spot in the previous elections, given that his party officers openly admit that SYRIZA negotiated, while at the same time the airports will be sold, there is an infulx of migration and the new legislative bill on citizenship was adopted. PASOK has to face its ghost, while the River is realizing how difficult it is to set up a new political body. The Communist Party is remaining faithful to its ideas, while Golden Dawn is possibly sensing the theat from Konstantopoulou…
The country’s productive class has the problem. The people who fed the state systm and work hard without any securities. An urban class that made its living without state or European grants, without under-the-table appointments and without early state pensions.
Who will cover this gap in political representation? Because that gap is forcing the new generation to migrate. There are prospects for healthy financial growth. There is no political force to implement it.
