The French Minister of Finances Michel Sapin argued that a possible rejection of the proposal of the institutions on Sunday’s referendum would send the Eurozone in “uncharted waters”, in an interview for television station France 2.
When asked whether there could be any last-minute negotiations, before the IMF payment is declared overdue, the French Minister avoided responding.
The real matter at hand, he explained, was the result of the referendum on Sunday. He explained that if the Greek people vote ‘yes’, in favor of accepting the proposal, then the negotiations could carry on.
Mr. Sapin repeated that Greece’s place is in the Eurozone, clarifying that that a Greek departure would be dramatic.
