A major police operation was launched on Wednesday morning in Attica, Volos, Corinth, Xylokastro and Patra, in an effort to bust a notorious extortion ring. The criminal organization is said to focus its criminal activities on the extortion of private businesses.
So far the police have announce the arrest of ten individuals for participating in the criminal organizations, with further arrests expected later in the day.
Amongst those arrested are a known boxer and a wanted man who had been involved in major criminal organizations and bomb attacks in the past. The boxer had previously been accused of being involved in a war between gangs in a countryside city.
