A huge fire has broke out in Pylos in Messinia, with the Fire Brigade reporting that despite the many dispersed fronts, no populated areas are under threat.
The Fire Brigade has committed 15 vehicles and about 50 fire fighters, along with a helicopter and an aircraft to tackling the fire. Local authorities are supporting the fire fighters with five vehicles.
Meanwhile a fire that broke out in Iliki of Viotia has been set under control, with the Fire Brigade stationing three vehicles and about ten firefighters in the area to ensure it is extinguished.
