The board of directors of the federation of judicial employees (ODYE) has declined a Troika invitation to discuss problems faced in the area of justice. The federation issued an announcement noting that the “memorandum politics lead to denial of justice and the destruction of judicial services”.
The federation further explains that “the reasons of this decision have to do with our declared opposition to the memorandum’s austerity programs, the impoverishing the Greek people, the auctioning of public property, the destruction of the social state etc, which lead to recession and the destruction of the economy”.
“The drastic cuts in wages and pensions with the simultaneous introduction of harsh taxes and levies impoverish the people (employees, pensioners and the unemployed) and create an unprecedented humanitarian and social crisis”.
The federation concludes that the troika policies “result in hundreds of convictions for Greece by the European Courts, regarding the payment of hundreds of thousands or millions of euros in fines for delayed administration of justice”.
