While speaking from the stand of the central organization committee of the party conference, PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos publicized his intention to meet DIMAR leader Fotis Kouvelis, to discuss the Center-Left.
Mr. Venizelos’ reference confirmed the open channels of communication between PASOK, DIMAR and other center-left divs. PASOK considers the resurgence of the center left to be a part of its central strategy. Likewise, DIMAR circles are warming to the idea that there is little reason for the two government partners to run independently at an upcoming election.
Mr. Venizelos however noted that “PASOK is not a tail, but a cat; with nine live, agile, smart to avoid political serpents”. Mr. Venizelos also referred to the dire state of the economy, repeating his position that Greek society cannot take any more austerity measures.
