The Deputy Minister of Finances G. Mavraganis claims that “it’s a matter of weeks” to reveal the first data of the tax compliance of some 24,720 Greeks with overseas accounts containing sums they cannot justify.
PASOK MP V. Kegeroglou quizzed the minister over the process, since the “Lagarde List” Committee’s procedure has overshadowed the “real issue”, which is to investigate Greeks with real estate in London and bank accounts in Lichtenstein and Luxembourg.
Mr. Mavraganis avoided giving a deadline, should any of the 24,710 taxpayers wish to submit tax declaration amendments and evidence to support their claims. The Minister stated that detailed information regarding the case will be presented in Parliament in “the next few weeks”.
