Kedikoglou: «KKE and SYRIZA are competing over activism»

1.2.13

In a televised interview on Mega Channel, government representative Simos Kedikoglou dismissed the claims of PAME syndicalists over damages at the office of the Minister of Labor. Mr. Kedikoglou suggested that PAME publicizes the video of their intervention, as is customary for them to do.

Regarding the change of charges addressed to the 35 PAME syndicalists, Mr. Kedikoglou explained “the necessary time was allowed to calmly and objectively examine everything”. The government representative referred to an “activism competition” between KKE and SYRIZA, by scathingly referring to SYRIZA MPs Lafazanis and Stratoulis “running behind PAME” at the courts and police HQ.

The Communist Party leader Aleka Papariga responded in a televised interview on Ant1, claiming that the government wants to suppress and butcher everything that moves. Mrs. Papariga denied the allegations that the PAME syndicalists caused damages, claiming that they were attacked by riot police.

She also stated that should the people compromise and put up with the current measures, the situation will be must worse. When asked about political alliances, the KKE leader stressed that the basis of cooperation is the people’s interests and “not the signs, or who is left or not, the yes or no to the memorandum and whether the IMF or Merkel are better”. She noted that even if cooperation were possible “they will lead nowhere if the people are not united, if everyone looks out for their own sector”.
