The Ministry of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights has published its legislative initiative for civil partnerships online for public debate. The debate will conclude at 14:00 on Friday, 20th of November.
According to the bill, civil partnerships may be entered by two adults irrespective of gender and comes into effect when submitted to the local civil register.
Civil partnerships are not allowed if any of the two parties is legally married or has entered a civil partnership with a third person. Certain limitations are also in place disallowing civil partnerships between relatives by blood or marriage, as well as between adoptive parents and children.
