“I want to thank you for this clear win, the people’s win” argued the president of SYRIZA Alexis Tsipras amid cheers from his party supporters. “I feel justified because the people gave us a clear mandate to fight inside and outside the country. The people gave a clear mandate to get rid of everything keeping us stuck in the past” he added.
“Now we can continue this struggled that we began in January. We managed to have the Greek flag wave in all squares in Europe” he noted and stressed that “the mandate we received is for four years«. The SYRIZA leader stated that “Greece in Europe is synonymous to struggle and decency” and how his party proved that it is “too tough to die”.
Mr. Tsipras explained that “this result does not belong to SYRIZA but to the working classes” and that “the mandate we were given by the people is crystal clear mandate to get rid of the regime of vested interests and corruption. As of tomorrow we will get rid of the past”.
“We have difficulties ahead of us, but also stable ground. Recovery will not come by magic, but with a lot of work, tenacity and struggle” he concluded. The SYRIZA leader was then joined by the president of the Independent Greeks Panos Kammenos, whom he thanked and noted that “we unite our forces and carry on together what we started in January”.
