The current and former Prime Ministers Antonis Samaras and Kostas Karamanlis recently met at a dinner hosted at the home of New Democracy’s founder and “patriarch” of the Center-Right in Greece Konstantinos Karamanlis.
The two were invited to the private dinner by former Minister Achilleas Karamanlis a few days after the European elections, in an effort to send a message of unity and rally New Democracy’s voters. This is the first time in about seven months that Mr. Samaras and Mr. Karamanlis have had the opportunity to meet and discuss.
Also present at the dinner aside from Mr. Samaras and Mr. Karamanlis, were Achilleas Karamanlis’ son Achilleas Karamanlis, the former NATO commander and Dean of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University James Stavridis and the former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Konstantinos Karamanlis Foundation Petros Molyviatis.
