As with every year, the butchers at the Varvakios Agora in down town Athens are celebrating Shrove Thursday by giving out grilled meat to passers by. The Municipality of Athens has provided the wine for the festivities.
The president of the Varvakios market Kleanthis Tsironis reported that attendance this year has been higher than ever and that the distribution will be complete at around 2pm.
